Lake Nockamixon is an ideal place for the beginner to learn to sail. Located near Quakertown, PA, it is the largest fresh water lake within 45 minutes of Philadelphia. The Lake is approximately seven miles long with marina docking facilities for 648 boats. The winds on Lake Nockamixon average around 10 miles per hour and create nearly ideal sailing conditions for the beginning sailer.
